Have you guys seen this beauty??

Maybe this is old news, but I saw this in a magazine I bought, and I fell in love.

This is a revolver that fires both 45 AND 410 shotgun shells.
OMG.
I love it.

How about this.........

The NAA Companion is a percussion (cap & ball) .22 caliber five shot revolver, engineered by the legendary gun designer, Dick Casull.
The Companions use a #11 Percussion Cap and FFFFH or Pyrodex powder. The Super Companion is compatible with the grips, holsters and other accessories for the NAA .22 Magnum Mini-Revolver. Both models use .22 Caliber Cap & Ball bullets, available from NAA (see below).
As with NAA's other Mini-Revolvers, the Companion employs the same precision design. The Companion is made in America, utilizing surgical-quality stainless steel.

Each revolver package includes:
50 - 30 gr lead bullets
Powder charge measure (yellow scoop)
Bullet seater
5 bullet nipples (already installed in cylinder)
Allen wrench for bullet nipples
Open holster with belt clip
Lockable gun rug (lined pouch)
Small padlock with NAA Logo

Actually, I believe that came up in a discussion about a week ago. It's also commonly referred to as 'snakeshot'. I know a couple of guys who're less than accepting of our legless bretheren and keep a gun loaded with it on themselves at all times when out and about on their properties.

The Judge really is not that great a revolver. accuracy from .45 colt is mediocre.

Great snake gun, that's about it though.

Well, I'm not into guns yet, and in Canada they don't "allow" handguns, so I've never seen a pistol that fires shotgun shells before.
How common are they? (Shotgun pistols, I mean) Are there a bunch of different manufacturers??
I assumed the Taurus was the first.

Heh, we bring guns in for show-and-tell where I work. Then again, the business is owned by a libertarian.

I was shooting with a friend last weekend who had one. The 410 shells he shot expanded and had to be "pressed" out (could have been cheap ammo). And he couldn't shoot 410 slugs or buck shot through it. It seems they taper out at the bottom and won't fit into the chamber.

MKS.

Is this the first pistol to shoot shotgun shells, or no?

K.I.S.S............. a .22 repeater (bunnies, grouse, deer, squirrels, etc) and a 12 gauge (moose, deer, ducks, turkeys, bears, pe@ple, etc.). 2 firearms vs. 1......defense in depth/redundancy. Easily available and relatively cheap ammo. Ease of use, easy to learn how to use. Also, a .22 cal with low velocity shorts makes a very low noise discharge to keep a low profile.

Re: Have you guys seen this beauty??

Wakeness: No it is not the first. there have been 2 barrel derringer style pistols for at least a hundred years in that chambering.

Thanks for the answer. I don't know squat about guns.
